Register with the PracticeWe strongly recommend that you register when you move into the practice area and not wait until you have a medical problem.. You will be asked to complete registration forms. All patients over 16 will be offered a new patient medical. Under 16s on medication will also be offered a new patient medical. The nurse/HCA will take brief details of your medical history and will carry out a brief health check.. Once you have been registered with our practice your medical records will be obtained from your previous GP.
Obtain a sick lineA self certificate will cover you for the first 7 days and this certificate can be obtained from reception. Your employer must accept this by law. If you require a sick line for more than 7 days you will be required to make an appointment with a GP.
Obtain my resultsMost results can be obtained by telephoning the surgery in the afternoon and asking the receptionist for your result. All results are checked by a GP. The GP will decide whether they are happy for the result to be given out by the receptionist. If the GP feels that he would prefer to discuss your results with you, the receptionist will ask you to make an appointment.
Find out what travel vaccinations I needYou will need to collect and complete a travel vaccination form. Once you have returned this a prescription will be made available after 5 working days and this should be given to the chemist. A Practice Nurse appointment should be made to receive your injections. Please bring your injections with you.
Get through on the telephone in the morningAs we are now operating an on the day appointment system the lines are very busy between 8.30 and 9.30am. We now have 5 lines operating between 8.30 and 9.30 and will continue to monitor the telephone lines. If the telephone is ringing please continue to hold on. It may take several minutes for your call to be answered. If you are not telephoning for an on the day appointment you may wish to telephone later in the morning or in the afternoon.
